MILLER ANNOUNCES MILITARY LISTENING SESSION

U.S. Rep. Jeff Miller (R-FL-01) today announced that he will be hosting a Military Listening Session on Thursday, May 24th at 6:00 p.m. CDT at the Niceville Campus of Northwest Florida State College .
Congressman Randy Forbes (R-VA- 04), the Chairman of the Readiness Subcommittee on the House Armed Services Committee, will join Congressman Miller will engage in an informal town hall meeting to listen the opinions of our community and business leaders. Discussions will include the defense budget and sequestration.
The Armed Services Subcommittee on Readiness has jurisdiction over military readiness, training, and logistics; and deployment preparation and processes. In addition, the subcommittee is responsible for all military construction, depot policy, installations and family housing issues, including the base closure process, and energy policy and programs of the Department of Defense.
Miller said the events will take place at 6:00 p.m. at the NWF State College, Niceville Campus and expected to last about an hour. Constituents are invited to come by with questions and comments related to the defense budget and area bases.
