Washington, Sep 8, 2011 - Congressman Jeff Miller (R-Fl-01) today issued the following statement:

 “Vicki and I were saddened to learn that our friend, Dave Bitner, lost his courageous battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) this morning.

 I served with Dave in the Legislature and came to know him as a larger-than-life personality as well as a determined advocate for his constituents.

 Dave was a gifted leader and a dedicated public servant, whose strong convictions and committed work ethic were admired by both ends of the political spectrum.  Dave worked tirelessly for the betterment of the State of Florida and he will be missed. 

 Our prayers are with his wife Wendy and all of their friends and family.”
