Troubling info on the Debt
Posted by on March 13, 2011
I wanted to share with you some startling numbers about America’s fiscal situation:

·         The United States is now more than $14 trillion in debt, and very close to surpassing the entire annual value of goods and services produced in this country (GDP is about $14.4 trillion).

·         This record-level of debt is equal to $45,500 for EVERY American, and $127,500 for every current taxpayer.

·         The federal deficit surpassed $1 trillion each year for the past two years and is estimated to be $1.5 trillion for this year.

·         The U.S. borrows 42 cents of every dollar spent.

We are where we are because we have an irresponsible House and Senate. What did our second President say? He said, "There are two ways to conquer and enslave a nation. One is by the sword. The other is by debt.” -- John Adams

As a federal employee, how will the government shutdown help me when I am out of work and not getting paid a salary?

Maybe if we stop letting in immigrants into the United States and letting them collect Social security, food stamps, and letting them get all the medical care on government expense maybe we would not be so far in debt. I recieved an e-mail with true facts on how much we spend on illegal immigrants and if we actually deported them back we would be able to save millions on medical, food stamps, Social Security, government housing (HUD) housing, wick programs to feed there babys that are born here in the United States, and any extra money these illegal immigrants get send it back to there families in there own countries. Yes millions of our american dollars are being spent on illegal immigrants, we need to spend this money on those who need it. We see commercials about children straving in third world countries, well what about the children here in the United States that need medical, dental, and other things to survive, it seems like we care more about illegal immigrants and those in the third world countries than we do about our own people. I can send you that e-mail with all the facts and it would shock you and the rest of the American people that really do not know how much money we do spend on illegal immigrants. Just like individals adopting babies from other countries, well did you know there are many children here in the United States that need a loving and caring family. I know if I could I would adopt a child to help, but it does cost to do that. I think that you should look up the stats on the cost that we give up to illegal immigrants and use that to help solve the budget and show how that money could be used to save it equals out to almost 330 billion which should be enough to stimulate the Economy for the citizens of this country. Just a bit of stats 30% of prisioners in federal prisions are illegal aliens, 3 million dollars a day is being spent to incarcerate illegal aliens.17 billion dollars is used to educate American-born children of illegal aliens ( known as anchor babies, 12 billions dollars a year is spent on primary and secondary school education for children here illegally and they can not speak a word of English, 2.5 billion a year is spent on medicaid for illegal aliens. There are more stats but just see how much money is being spent to care for illegal aliens and educating them, what are we doing we need to spend that money else where then no one would have to be worried about being out of work and not getting paid. You individuals in congress really need to look at these stats and protect the American People from going bankrupt, or losing there jobs to support the illegal aliens.

Wow! $14 trillion in debt? That sure is a lot of money. Anyway it is good to know that somehow this debt was able to help a lot of people. The homeless people that live on the streets and some of these illegal immigrants. They are still human beings so i guess its something that people should be thankful about. Would you rather want them stealing or robbing stores. The funds that was spent on these things are justifiable.

Mr. Miller, most American don't care about the federal debt. This is a Republican-manufactured "crisis" to try to make Obama and the Democrats look bad while avoiding your Congressional responsibility to the American people. What Americans are concerned about is JOBS. While your party clings to the discredited idea of "trickle down" economics and "welfare for the rich," millions of average middle-class Americans are unemployed but you aren't concerned about them, only about regaining power for your political party, the "Party of No," The Party of Fear," and the Party of Hypocrisy." We see through your game, Mr. Miller Where was your outrage when the previous (Republican) administration was piling up the huge debt that you now decry for two unfunded wars? That was perfectly okay with you at the time, and now you are blaming the deficit on Obama. I would remind you that congress alone that has the constitutional authority to authorize spending. That responsibility fell to YOU, Mr. Miller. All the posturing and dialectic in the world won't change that fact. The emperor has no clothes.

It would be nice to believe that spending would really be curtailed in the next year and that the President would be stopped from changing the debt ceiling. We need change and if it does not happen, I believe the "old guard" of the Republican Party wil be thrown out and a Tea Party group will run to replace them. I for one will support the Tea Party and its ideas.

It is beyond me, why both the Senate and House don't see what this President is trying to do to the American way of live. I'm sure you want like my suggestions, but our elected officials to the Senate and House have done some much for themselves and will make suggestion to cut Social Security and Medicare that I payed into along with my employer for the 42 years I worked. But the benefits that you and your cohorts have are never put on the chopping block. I bet I could find at least billion dollars in benefits that all of you enjoy. No wonder the government is so screwed up. Plus a President that wants to socialize our country and no one seem to see what is happening in Washington DC. All of you need to get together no matter which party and ask if that is what you want the United States of America. You people need to straighten out what is going on not only for all of use but our children and their children. I read that this has been tried before, but was stopped. All of you working together it can and done again. God Bless America, that was what the United States was build on over 200 years ago and it need to be done again.. Let the Lord God guide you and help with all the decisions that you are having to make over the next three years. Please have to staff to read every word on every thing that come up for a vote and give all the pro or cons with the bill. Please don't make a mistaken that all of you made on the Obama health plan...
